Romantic ballet performance at Hybernia Theatre

Romeo and Juliet

‎Sergej Sergejevič Prokofjev

A shortened version of the complete  classical ballet storyline, which lasts 105 minutes including a 15-minute interval, in the pleasant premises of the Hybernia Theatre on the Náměstí Republiky (Republic Square). Recorded music by Sergei Prokofiev will guide you through the ballet performance and it will intensify the intriguing plot of the tragic story of two young lovers Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The story of the feuding families by William Shakespeare is suitable for all ages as everyone believes in love at first sight. The original choreography for this ballet was created by choreographer, ballet pedagogue and former member of a prominent Czech ballet company, Monika Kysilová, who took this classical ballet title to another level. Come and see the tragic love story of two young hearts facing adversity from the very first moment, set in Verona.

Skvělé představení, skvělá hudba, relativně málo lidí, takže se na nic nečekalo. Hybernia jako budova by asi zasloužila vnitřní rekonstrukci, ale není to nic hrozného. Výkony tanečníku, baletek a celého sboru byl skvělý.

Had a nice evening at the Hybernia where I watched Romeo a Julie. Was pleasantly surprised by the theatre which was old but still looked nice, chairs were really comfortable and sight was good even for the cheaper tickets. Really enjoyed the ballet as well. Romeo was maybe a bit average but Juliet did a naive and heartfelt performance and Mercutio was brilliant!
